Spreadshirt and Blown Away raising awareness through clothing

From trauma to triumph – Simon Harmer launches official Blown Away collection with Spreadshirt

London, 31 March 2015, Spreadshirt has today announced its newest UK shop partner, Blown Away. Blown Away is the creation of Simon Harmer, a motivational speaker and former medic injured during his service in the British Army, who uses humour in his designs and in life to raise awareness, motivate and inspire people.

Since being injured, Simon Harmer has tried to give back to the charities which helped him. Simon has become a volunteer Ambassador for Help for Heroes and helps raise capital for this and other charities that support those wounded and their families. His Spreadshirt shop aims to raise awareness for those suffering life-changing injuries with the added bonus of helping him continue raising charitable funds. A donation to a service charity will be made from the sale of each product. Popular items in the range are now also available for sale via Spreadshirt’s Amazon UK shop.

Simon Harmer explains, “Spreadshirt’s offering means I can offer supporters a wide range of designs and products without the need to bulk order and with no upfront costs.” He adds, “I wanted to create a shop which would resonate with all those who have to cope every day with a physical or mental restriction. I have also received so much help over the years and wanted to give back to the charities who have helped me.”

Philip Rooke, CEO at Spreadshirt states “This is a good example of how to use content on clothing to reach a wider audience and raise awareness for a great cause. Charities as well as inspiring individuals like Simon Harmer are increasingly realising that they can take advantage of the opportunities, which new merchandising techniques can offer. Print-on-demand provides them and their supporters the chance to create and buy designs in the colour, size and style of their choosing.”

Spreadshirt is an easy to use merchandising e-commerce platform, which allows sellers to bring their ideas to life on clothing via multiple channels. The level of investment is low and running an online shop is flexible and risk-free because of a print-on-demand technology and the set of tools and features offered. The speed at which a design idea can be for sale, the quality of the clothing and quick delivery times ensure a customer-friendly experience. Spreadshirt provides a seamless extension to its sellers’ websites, handling all the online orders, payments, returns and delivery (within 3-5 days in the UK).
