Adventure motorcycle trips have become fairly common in the West. It is not unusual anymore to hear of an American or European team of riders attempting some kind of mammoth journey with nothing more than their trusty bikes and whatever they can carry. But why is it that you never hear of any Black Africans embarking on any of these adventures? Different culture, outlook, ambitions, world views? Whatever the reasons there are 2 guys from Nigeria ready to break the mould. Toyin and Fodeks are planning to circumnavigate the globe on BMW R1200GS motorbikes along with a British filmmaker who will document the journey and post videos online throughout. This will be the first time in history that a group of Africans has attempted such a feat. But why? The motivation behind this expedition is twofold: firstly the team are fed up with the all the negative news stories that come out of Nigeria and they want to give the world a positive story of courage, determination and success.
