More Success with Pinterest #3 – Tracking & Analysis

Spreadshirt Pinterest Advice The second part of our Pintertest tutorial was all about creating boards. But how can you find out whether your boards are successful or not? Do they actually generate the traffic you want them to create? Which pins are responsible for which amount of the traffic? And how successful is the competition? There are a number of approaches for tracking these questions. It is important to gather this information to optimise your Pintertest activities.
Here for a few means of analysis and tracking tools:
1. Repinly
Repinly offers you a selection of very interesting assessment options, which will help you effectively use your boards. Here you can see the most popular pin and board categories to help you find out which boards and users have most of the followers. Yet, so far it is not possible to sort these by countries. But it’s still well worth giving this site a go.
2. PinReach
PinReach is a free tool that let’s you evaluate the ‘overall performance’ of your pins. On the basis of a number of relevant measurement parameters, this tool calculates a score that helps you evaluate your pin’s efficiency. Compare these scores with those of other users, and you will know where you stand. The score of each pin increases the more it is liked or re-pinned by other users. Another positive factor for your score is the number of followers that your account and/or your board has on which a pin is dropped. So the more influential your pins are in your community, the higher your PinReach Score.
3. Pinerly
Pinerly is the tool that is best suitable for designing campaigns. A campaign is a pin combined with a photo, description and target URL. The pin’s performance is measured by means of several factors. Among these factors are the number of clicks per pin, the number of likes per pin, and the re-pin count. This is how you can evaluate how well your content performs. But you need to know that a re-pin can be done by changing a pin’s URL. If this happens, the measured scores are not appropriate, and unfortunately there is no solution at hand so far. What’s good, though, is that Pinerly has started to keep its users informed with a blog that contains a lot of useful information and advice.
4. Which content of your website was pinned?

If you want to find out, which content and pictures of your own website were pinned, just enter above URL in your browser. In place of ‘your website’ you enter your URL. In our case that would be https://www.pinterest.com/source/spreadshirt.de/. But his test is neither exhaustive nor completely accurate since the evaluation period is rather short.
5. Google analytics
Of course you can use Google Analytics to assess Pinterest’a usefulness for your website or turnover. Do you want to know how many visitors your site yielded by e.g. clicks through Pinterest? Or whether these visitors have visited your site before? This article on mashable.com points to several possibilities to find out just how useful your pins and boards are.
Whatever tools you use, it is well worth trying them all out. All of the above will help you assess the traffic your Pinterest account generates, and that is quite vital for the success of your website. They also help you realise which images and concepts appeal to your followers (who are potential customers of yours), which is what you need to know to turn your Pinterest account into a success by increasing the turnover in your shop.
