We’re continuously working to increase the performance of our Marketplace, and we’re always looking for ways to improve conversion and sales. Most of these updates happen in the background and are not very noticeable. However, our upcoming updates are larger than usual, and you might recognize some notable changes. Continue reading to see what you should expect…
Change in URL Structure
We’re always looking for new ways to boost your sales, so we’ll be making it easier for customers to find your work on Google and other search engines. Specifically, we’ll be improving the SEO (search engine optimization) of our URLs. We’ll be altering the links to include not only the design names, but also the product names. If you’ve linked your Marketplace products elsewhere, there’s no need to worry – a redirect is in place, so previous external links will not break.
More Relevant Search Results
We want potential customers to easily find the design they’ve been dreaming of, and we’re also looking to make our search results more relevant. Therefore, we are adapting the way our search engine works. When you’re using the search bar on the top right of the page after the implementation, you might notice some changes in the results pages.
Moreover, when you previously searched for a specific term, you’d see all of the products listed on the left side of the page, even if there weren’t any results for these product categories. After the update, you will only see the relevant product categories. This feature will eventually be available in your Showroom.
Improved Pagination
Finally, many of you have commented about the pagination on the Marketplace. In our continued effort to help boost conversion and sales, we have decided to increase the number of pages you see on any list page and in your Showroom. A limitation of results will still be in place, but it won’t be as strict as it used to be.
All these changes will enhance the overall performance of our Marketplace. As a result, customers will be able to navigate more quickly, and conversion is expected to increase. Moreover, the URL changes are expected to bring positive effects to our search engine ranking.
Although we try to ensure a smooth transition by examining the release in a test environment, please bear in mind that we might face some technical difficulties. Of course, we will try to solve these issues as quickly as possible.
Finally, it’s worth noting that we will not release this update for all platforms at once. The table below will keep you updated on the important dates, so be sure to check this blogpost first if you see anything unusual on the Marketplace:
