Travel Themes
As Gandalf once said, “Not all those who wander are lost.” Inspirational travel quotes are a great choice for the design contest—just make sure you don’t use any copyrighted texts for your designs.
Travel is such a broad theme that the possibilities are endless. Here are just a few design ideas:
- Maps or illustrations of travel destinations
- City names
- Travel activities such as: climbing, hiking or canoeing
- Camping
- Road trips
- City breaks
- Family holidays
Travel in Style
You have a great idea for a theme— now it’s time to narrow in on a style. But which style is right for your theme? Think about what kind of person would wear or display your theme. What’s that person’s style or vibe? Or imagine yourself wearing your design—what style would you be most attracted to? Would you pick up a T-shirt, poster, or mug with your design if you were shopping for a new look?
Are you going for hip and modern? Classic and accessible? Cutesy? Vintage-looking travel designs are also super trendy!
Choose Your Product Wisely
Once you’ve created your awesome travel design and styled it perfectly, make sure that you submit it on the right product. You want to show off your design in the best possible light, so choose carefully!
Illustrations or typographic designs work great on T-shirts and clothing. For posters, high-quality photography renders beautifully: go for a stunning landscape, interesting street photography or photos that inspire dreams of beautiful beaches or mountains. Add a wanderlust-inducing quote or phrase for a more personal touch.
