The marketplace isn’t just home to creator designs — it’s also home to licensed merch from official brands. A new label helps set them apart.
What’s new?
As you’re sure to have seen, the marketplace isn’t just home to creative designs on almost every subject and for almost every niche under the sun. These include strong brands like Stranger Things, Harry Potter, Peanuts, AC/DC and many more. In future, the showrooms of these merchandise or fan articles will be labelled ‘Official Merch’ and marked with a blue tick. This increases the user-friendliness of the marketplace and makes it easier for customers to find their way around.
What are the benefits of the new label and the blue tick?
The new label is first and foremost about trust. Trust in the sense that customers can be assured that they can only buy legal and officially licensed brand products on the marketplace. The labels on the product images and in the respective galleries tell them which products are official licensed merch right away.
Does the new label impact design rankings?
No. The only purpose of the ‘Under licence’ mention is to provide customers with better information and to simplify their use of the marketplace. That’s also why this label and the blue tick will only be used for official licenses.
