Quawlk
“Blackbird singing in the dead of night, take these broken wings and learn to fly- all your life….” A bird is a metaphor for freedom. Inspiration for the Quawlk Collection comes from the song Blackbird by The Beatles. The lyrics of the song refer to rising tensions due to the protests of the American civil rights movement against racial segregation in the United States in the sixties. Unfortunately, racism is still current. Let us not resign ourselves to it. Birds keep coming back in my designs, and music is always an important source of inspiration.
