SEO Training with the SEO expert Alex: part 3

Part 3 of our SEO Training is about the tabs ‘Designs’ and ‘Products’.

Designs:
Having uploaded your designs, you will be able to see an overview. In the thumbnail you can click details and edit keywords and product descriptions.
When describing your design, you should use terminology that customers are likely to use. Do not add product types such as t-shirt, hoodie etc.

Products:
Here you can edit information concerning the products, which you have designed yourself.

1. Product Name: Choose a name, which people look for. (Check Adwords if in doubt). The name should contain the product type (e.g. t-shirt, mug, cap).

2. Description: Describe the product by using the product name and a second keyword (both terms should be words that people google regularly).

3. Keywords: Keywords (tags) are distinctive terms, through which potential customers become aware of your products. Find suitable synonyms for the keywords you are already using in order to create further tags (e.g. by using the Google Adwords tool).

It should be your goal to provide a sufficient number of keywords in different places to make search engines aware of your products. The terms you use should mirror the products and product categories on display in your shop (e.g. ‘music t-shirts’ or ‘DJ t-shirts’). You should also be sure to provide further terminology appropriate to your topics or themes, e.g. ‘vinyl’, ‘hip hop’ etc. Don’t repeat yourself, but – as said before – use the strongest keywords in the Shop Name and description on the Info & Meta page. Again, only use relevant keywords – spamming unrelated tags doesn’t help anyone.
