Right in line with the current discount campaign on our homepage (only until 22nd July 2014), we have put together a few creative ideas for you here. If you like doing handicrafts, a personalised tank top can be the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
Or do you feel like I do? Maybe you )(like me) still have this tank top from THE holiday that evokes heaps of great memories. And you’ve long stopped wearing it. The DIY tips here show, how you can turn your old tank top into something extraordinary.
Good Tank Top News
Not all tank tops are alike. A racerback top and flowy fabrics go very well with leggings or hot pants. Our Premium Tanks Top for Men and Women convince in terms of classic cut and lathy straps. They offer a straightforward alternative for every warm day, and it’s possible to combine them with a host of other pieces of clothing. And if you still feel like working out when it gets really hot outside, the breathable sports top will keep you cool in the heat.
And now, get the scissors out!
Stars like Rihanna or Miley Cyrus have shown us: belly tops are back full swing this summer! Check out the blog Do it Yourself. Do it Better shows a tutorial for everyone who likes showing off their navel, but use the power of the mighty fringe to conceal what shouldn’t be seen.
The Fringe Look
Next to your top and a sharp pair of scissors, you need a bit of time and patience. Slice up top into fringes of the same width up to a desired length. Knot two pieces together each. As for the next rows, tie adjacent straps into knots. The longer the fringes the better, in our case the top was a bit short.

Manly & Bold
A lot of men don’t think much of handicraft. But there’s a simple trick to make real men look trendy. Just cut open the seems of the collar, and/or cut out the recess for the arm to make it bigger. It’s a great top to wear when you’re headed for the beach. This will get you a step closer to the natural cool of a Ryan Gosling look.

The Rockstar Look
You have a tank top that’s far to big? Oversize is totally trendy. Snip, snap, swoosh! Let the scissors snip, and you can turn your old oversized reject into a trendy top with an ‘open’ skull. There have been one or two stars who’ve done the same thing. Hollywood glamour for free? Sounds the ticket! You can cut out the skull free-style, or you take a piece of dry soap to sketch out the shape of a skull. And of course it doesn’t have to be a skull – anything goes! Hearts, smileys, birds… You’ll find more inspiration at pinterest.

Tricky Straps
Having tinkered about for an hour or two, we’ve been totally infected with the DIY fever. And straps can be quite telling: You can weave them into braids. Or twist them. Or loop a bow.

But now it’s your turn. Go for the tank top!
