Before Christmas, we surveyed all of our Facebook fans about which design they would print on their favourite Spreadshirt bag. We were happy to receive many and various answers, and almost 440 designs were handed in. Whilst leafing through the submissions, there were a number of clear trends of what is close to the heart of Spreadshirt’s supporting designers. Check them out and see if you agree…
Owls
It wasn’t a huge surprise that animal designs took the top spot as people’s most-favoured depictions. What was surprising, though, is one animal made an appearance more than any other: the owl. What is it about this nocturnal feathery friend that preoccupies people’s minds? Looking at the design submissions, we think it must be due to the combination of the bird’s fluffy cuteness and wide-eyed wisdom.
Meow!
We have long suspected that cats secretly rule the internet, couching and ready to pounce. This theory would explain the high number of cute and crazy cat images dominating social channels and corporate marketing. Second only to owls, cats were ever so popular print templates when being chosen for designs. Somehow the hairballs and sneaky cunning were dismissed in favour of prevailing feline cuteness.
No Sports
As far as sports go, all agreed that the “Running Sucks” design struck the right note. And irregardless of how we feel about cats, owls or wise guy jokes, we all need to agree that running is plain torture and everyone pursuing the sport is a sucker for pain. Just kidding!
