Shop Partner Interview with iluvumore

What inspired you to open your iluvumore shop, and for how long have you been running it?

All my life I’ve been a creative person. In the beginning I painted on canvas, and later I started designing all kinds of things (i.e. lamps). Recently I got into creating designs on the computer. A few people told me ‘Why do you not design t-shirts?’, so 8 months ago I realized my first idea.

But I wasn’t too happy with the products at hand and limitations as far as logistics and selection of designs were concerned. This is how I got to Spreadshirt. I’ve been running the iluvumore shop for 5 months now, so I’m not exactly what you’d call an old hand. Still, my impression is that Spreadshirt provides a relaxed and hassle-free platform. I get my inspiration from impressions I collect in every-day situations and have no problem turning them into nice street-art products here. I also love what the designer Bansky does, and I think that is reflected in my work as well.

How did you find out about Spreadshirt?

I first heard about Spreadshirt through my web-space host.

How much time do you invest in your shop, and do you create designs yourself?

All the designs in my shop have been designed by me. I put a lot of time into creating layouts and designs. But since this is a hobby of mine, it is a lot of fun.

Which design are you especially proud of, and how did you create it?

At the moment it’s the one that’s called ‘Pass Out‘. The design and the colours work really well together. The idea for ’Pass Out’ is rooted in another design of mine, ‘Motivs Bucket’.

How do you market the shop to create more awareness?

Mainly on my blog. Here I can present new designs, layouts and t-shirts. Feedback I get from my readers is being considered as well. Through Networkedblogs, I was able to connect it to Facebook and Twitter. This way everyone who feels like following me can do so. Sometimes I also put footage on YouTube showing how I create a design. Oh yes, and I spread the word through the grapevine. I’d like to take the opportunity and thank my mum for being instrumental here. Cheers mum!

What type of people do you think buy your stuff?

Well, I suppose it’s people who want to be an inch apart from the mainstream.

What has your biggest moment been so far (with or without Spreadshirt)?

My birth 🙂

Have you ever seen anybody wearing one of your t-shirts who you didn’t know?

Unfortunately not. First person to wear some of my gear will get a pint. Time to make an appearance!

What do you do when you don’t design t-shirts – do you have a 9 to 5 day job?

Not yet, I am a student of computer visualisation.

If you were a t-shirt – what would you look like?

Phew, that’s a good question. I’d say I’d be a used-look item sporting a design of some kind.

And now you. What is a good question to ask you, and what’s he answer?

Can you buy t-shirts in my shop? Can’t tell you, see for yourself!
