As promised a few days ago, today I’d like to share with you the first impressions of our new t-shirt collection. To give you a brief summary, we wanted to introduce a new collection which offers high quality, is available for men, women and children in the same colours and is available in all sizes – 3 points which customers and partners always request from us.
As well as the cut, colours and sizes, we’re considering how best to distinguish this collection, so it’s attractive for customers and above all has a recognisable element, symbolising the high Spreadshirt quality. It’s particularly important for us as we know the above elements of quality and style are just what our customers and partners want.
We’ve considered branding our products for the following reasons:
- Quality: We represent quality, and we’re proud of the quality that we deliver. A whole series of partners and customers tell us that they only want our hoodies with their orders and reject other brands. On the one hand we’re delighted that people love our quality, on the other hand it also shows us that we can lift ourselves even further above the competition with our own collections.
- Customer feedback on premium products: In four years of experience of changing and testing different brands for our exclusive collections, we’ve learned that customers tend to prefer “brand” products opposed to “no name” apparel, and they evaluate the products from well known brands more positively (sometimes correctly, sometimes not).
- Test results in France: Based around the results of the two points above, we ran a test in the French market with surprising results: The feedback on our branded „test collection“ (Continental shirts with a Spreadshirt logo) was significantly better than the same shirts with no Spreadshirt branding. Even the Net Promoter Score was better on these orders, as was the return rate, which was significantly reduced.
These results led to the conclusion that we’d like to make our collection more externally recognisable, to further increase customer satisfaction. Here I’ll try to provide as much detail about these points as possible, as I can imagine that a few partners may have initial concerns about Spreadshirt branding.
I would counter any concerns by saying:
– The new collection is a test! That enables you to gain experience with the “Spreadshirts” and test their quality before offering them to your customers.
– The new collection is an addition to our existing shirts, not a replacement! You’ll still be able to offer alternatives from brands such as American Apparel in your shops.
On to the core of the issue, where I’d really like your help – How should the products be branded?
We’re definitely not going to go for any drastic or exaggerated solutions, impact the printing area in any way or distract from your designs or motives. But we are thinking about adding another label alongside the neck label. Here are a few drafts, which show how the label might look in various positions around the t-shirt. If the choice was yours, which version would you go for?
Option 1: Love tag on the left facing outwards, blank on the inside.
Option 2: Love tag on the left facing outwards, Spreadshirt on the inside.
Option 3: Spreadshirt Label on the back
Option 4: Love tag on the right facing outwards, blank on the inside.
Option 5: Love tag on the right facing outwards, Spreadshirt on the inside.
Option 6: Spreadshirt Label on sleeve
Thank you for your support!

NONE OF THESE! We promote ourselves as a brand any other branding on our t-shirts would confuse our customers!
Option 1 and 2
Option 1 for sure !
Option 1
Option #1 or #4 but not #3. Agree with Jens, #3 is too obtrusive.
Number 1 definently
Option 1 or 2 definitely. I hope the new models will include pale colors as wll as thinner t shirts.
Option 1 ou 2.
I go with Chris Reilly. If option 3 came through we would leave for another supplier. Same goes for option 6. And I’m guessing a lot of people would.
The other options would be fine, no problem at all.
Option 2 🙂
Hello.
I really think, that you should get snapbacks, that I/we could customize in our webshop. You would earn a lot on it, and customers will be glad.
My opinion.

Option 1.
Anything but option 3.
Would be SUPER if custom Label could be added to refer to a shop!!
Option 2 for me is least intrusive
Option 2 or 5 for me!
Option 1 or 2 would be fine.
Option 1 or 2
Option 3 would put me off completely as this is where I put some of my logos when required.
Sorry but I don’t like any options … Why don’t you just put a small label (heart one) on the neck inside ?
If there are too many labels and spreadshirt name everywhere, I won’t use these products.
Option 2 would be nice. 😉
Option 1 if we have to have one… option 3 is way to obtrusive
the tags aren’t a nice idea and will put people off. If they are on the new t shirts that I use then I will find somewhere else to sell my tshirts! Sorry
None of those, sorry, or option 1 or 2 with a more neutral color of label as dark grey, even if your logo is green, just my opinion of designer and also big customer of t-shirts
Option 1 or 2.. 🙂
option 1 is the best
optin 1 seems more better!
Thanks for the quick response, Anne. Much appreciated.
Option 1 or 2 but certainly not option 6!
I think number 2 would be my choice.
(thinking out loud) will the new collection bring us transparant stickers to?
would open a completely new world of sticker usage for sure 😉
if we have to choose from these samples, i would go for option 2!
a no go is option 3, taking to much space which me likes to use for my designs.
Option 1 or 2 would be OK, but I would find option 3 obtrusive and would probably consider another supplier if this was forces onto all the t-shirts.
Number one is my favorite, number 2 is ok, i think it’s a good idea, but is should’nt become more expensive…
I like number one. I could also go for number six, if it was the heart instead of text.
Absolutely not number three, because that’s where I put my own logo.
🙂
Hi Iain, the collection will be a test as an additional t-shirt collection to the classics but priced very attractive to customers and partners.
Totally option 2. More recognisable than when it’s blank inside, and I have a few clothes that do the same kind of branding. Doesn’t bother me, nearly invisible, and even looks a little bit cool.
Option 1 or 4 🙂
Option 3. I think the heart will put off my customers. Is this collection intended to replace the current ‘classic’ t-shirt options? If so, will it be priced similarly?
Option 1 seems perfect !
Option 1 please.
Option 1 or 4
Option zwei, fünf oder sechs oder/und innen klein ohne vom Motiv abzulenken.
I prefer option 2 of the choices that are offered.
Option 1..
No doubt
