3 Steps to Improve Your Back-to-School Sales

Soon the summer will come to an end, and people will be looking for gifts for kids going (back) to school and university. Consider relatives looking for presents to surprise the little ones at their first day of school and to help those beginning a new stage with getting life at the sixth form or university to a good start. Find out how you can make use of the big rush, and spread happiness for kids, teachers and your bank accountant.

Step 1 – Create Products for Target Group

Fill your shop with new products. The idea is to create appealing products for new first formers and primary school kids.

The handy-cuddly-primary things that kids like:

Teens – cool stuff for the back of the bus:

Gifts for those with teacher crushes and those who are just pets:

Step 2 – Use Designs for Cool Kids & Top Teachers

Once you’ve decided on the products to include in your Shop, think of appropriate designs to adorn them with. Do you have fitting designs? Use the chance to create new designs to suit the occasion, or use some of the community designs.

Here’s a selection of designs for inspiration:

As always, tagging the designs with suitable keywords greatly improves your chances of others finding them. Tag suggestions here would be primary school, school T-shirts, university, college T-shirts, graduation, first-former etc.

Step 3 – Run Effective Social Media Campaigns

We’ve explained this on occasion, but it’s really important: whenever you use social media channels such as Facebook and the like, don’t go all gung ho as in “Look at my awesome new shop products!” Spread the word gently, and you’re bound to be more successful.

You could i.e. share a Facebook post while adding a link to your new product selection for Back to School Products and disclose a personal story of your first day at school, an anecdote from your school days or a funny thing that happened when you were at college.

An example: “Here’s something I’ve never told anyone. At my first day at school, I kept crying for my mum until the teacher called her at home, and she had to come back to collect me. She was so embarrassed that she told me to stop acting the maggot (yes, she’s from Ireland) in front of everybody, and that’s a lesson I never forgot.” Then link to your to your product selection – it will work for you!
