Autumn Trend 2011: Woolen-Warm, Scottish and Hippie

Herbsttrend 2011

In just a few weeks autumn will officially begin and I would like to take the chance and leave some ideas in terms of colours and fashion trends for the upcoming season. Long story short: focus on red, brown and petrol colours as well as Scottish plaid patterns, hippie styles and longer-length skirts. All in all, the outfits should look woolen warm.

Beside fancy violet, lightly green, bright red and deep green as potential trend colours, the fashion trend for autumn goes to big patterns. Believe it or not. For example, the small plaids will get replaced by big Scottish plaid patterns on blouses, jackets or dresses. So the patterns that used to be worn in your pyjama-collection will be popular this season. Furthermore we will notice the bigger hype around the hippie-look which will come now in fringes and cheerful patterns.

Not only bright and warm colours will be trendy these days, but also the very cool petrol tone is still on of the most worn colours in this season. The coolness of the look depends on the material of your product, as knitwear is also fashionable. And if you imagine a petrol wool cardigan combined with orange-red top underneath and combined with chocolate-brown trousers – the look wouldn’t be that under-cooled 😉 Knitwear will be “in” in different styles: boyfriend-XXL-sweaters, wool-coats or old-school-Norwegian patterns will stay in the fashion-world for the next couple of months.

The problem with skirt lengths will be clarified by the fashion industry itself. You have to wear skirts in a longer length like over-knee. No Mini-skirts anymore but more wrinkles, patterns and different materials are the autumn trend for 2011. Regardless of whether you wear a more sportive, casual or lady-like-skirt, even here it’s all about the trend colours. Dare to wear bright colours here and I promise they are going to be the eye-catcher. Speaking of longer-lengths, they not only appear in the skirt collections for the next season. They are also shown in coat collections and we already know them from the summer’s maxi-dress collections.

That’s all about the autumn fashion trends for 2011 from my side. I hope you get to enjoy the last bits of summer and are prepared for the next season. 🙂
