The freedom of choice is a good thing, particularly when it comes to bringing your Shop’s graphics in tune with your creative aura. When choosing the size of your header image, though, there are a few aspects worth considering for creating confidence among your customers. Check out this short tutorial to help you find the perfect pixel (re)solution.
Here’s the problem: when you choose a header-image resolution with dimensions that are either too big or too small, you give your Shop an unprofessional look that may have an off-putting effect on your customers. A nicely aligned header image, by implication, evokes more trust and leads to easier check-out decisions.
Getting the size right
A few simple steps will have your header displayed nicely on desktop and mobile devices:
- The size of the image file should not exceed 200kB in total (otherwise the page load time gets extended unnecessarily)
- Have the image fit the dimensions of 1400px x 250px
- Make sure that the header gives the customer a relevant idea of what your shop is about
- Upload graphic “Header & Colours” > Upload header graphics
A final tip: we recommend adding your Shop’s logo to the header, and – preferably – feature model wearing a product with one of your designs.
