The term #selfie was introduced in the mainstream media not so long ago, and with the name came a huge increase in the tendency of all of us to post self-taken pictures of ourselves on Facebook, Instagram and other special media. Well, some say that the idea of Father’s Day originates in pagan sun worship. In this view, the sun is seen as the father of the universe, and summer solstice is in close proximity to this day as well. And like so many things, celebrating fatherhood on a special day swept across the pond from the states. In the US it’s been celebrated for over a hundred years, and many dads have come to like this tradition in the UK.
