Categorize your Shop

In your Classic or Designer shop, you can create categories for your products or designs.  Categories will allow your customers to easily narrow down your assortment to find the tshirts they are looking for.  The specifics for creating and adding products/designs to categories can be found in this helpful FAQ!

In your Classic shop, create your categories and fill them with your shirts, then activate a dropdown to appear on the top of your shop, as seen in the blue bar here. Additionally, you can use links from your website to your specific categories or code them as side navigation. Each category you create gets a specific id, found on the My Categories section. Use the Category name with C and the Category number to create the links: https://envirotees.spreadshirt.com/awareness-ribbon-C6499 or simply choose the category from your shop dropdown and copy that URL.

In your Designer shop, the categories would appear in the Design Tab drop down, which you can use in conjunction with the Marketplace categories or as your own category options. If you want to offer your customers more designs, but not all of the Marketplace categories, then grab designs from the Marketplace and add them to your Designer shop categories. Search the Marketplace for keywords that fit with your designs, then click on the products you are interested in. Under the product image, while logged into your Spreadshirt account, you will see an Add to my Designs option. Click this and the design will be available under the Design Tab in your user area when All or Borrowed is selected in the Show filter. You can then choose to add that design to your design categories, as you would your own designs.

The Designer shop categories also offer linking capabilities with the provided category id. You can find a tutorial with many linking options for your Designer or Classic shop on the Forum.

20 of our Favourite Designs from December and January

Our Design Service team takes a good, hard look at every single vector design you guys and gals upload. Imported, perused, fine tuned for printing, exported – all by hand!

Sometimes they get the feeling that every second design we see is a “I Love xyz”. A fine looking heart in all shapes and sizes with a bold “I” smacked in front, meant only to find its home on a white shirt.

But the reality proves to be different, especially when we take a look at our archive. We come across a huge variety of ideas. There is hope!

Company logos, modern forms, and sometimes some real treasures (which are sometimes sadly only for Digital Direct), love and hate designs, hobbies, sports, … the list goes on. Pretty much anything you could imagine – they’ve seen it. One common thread through it all is the love of comic characters and animals.

We’ve pulled out a couple of our favorite designs from the last two months, so you can also have a look at what our design community is up to. Perhaps you’ll even find some inspiration. Enjoy the show!

Facebook Marketing: Give your Shop a Face!

It happened last August, for the first time in history. The average American Internet user (we’ll call him Joe) spent more time on Facebook than on the pages of Google’s network (including YouTube and Gmail).

Facebook alone not only has the same reach as Google, but also (according to its own numbers) more users. They say more than 500 million active users. What does “active” mean? Half of Facebook users log in every day!

These numbers are impressive and prove that it’s becoming more and more important for e-shops to be present on Facebook. Some of our Shop Partners have already had some great success (e.g. 11:11, Wordboner, Jerkass Clothing and Amorphia Apparel).

Sweatpants Day Fashion Show – Win a £100 Voucher

Tomorrow is International Sweatpants Day! Just like last year, we are (scarily?) obsessed with this event and want to celebrate this fine day together with you! Not to worry – you can trust Anne and the other fashion experts out there: sweatpants are fashionable and can be worn outside the comfort of your home!

Seeing that it’s Fashion Week in Berlin this week, we thought it would be a grand idea to set up our own fashion show. On the Internet. With sweatpants. It’s open to all and you could win big!

  • Wear your coolest, most laid-back garb on Sweatpants Day
  • Take a photo (be photographed) – striking a pose, opening a bank account, visiting a local politician etc.
  • Upload the photo by Sunday evening to our Facebook wall (or somewhere else, but be sure to leave a link below)

We will then collect all of the photos and set them up for a vote next week. The photo with the most “likes” will win a £100 (or €100) voucher for Spreadshirt. Second place will get £50 (or €50) and third place £25 (or €25).

Be sure to stop by tomorrow on our blog or Facebook page to see our casual approach to style. I’ve already got my outfit set aside. What about you?

Suit up tomorrow – we’re definitely looking forward to it!
